First pet

In January, Nick brought home our very first pet... FISH!  The girls each got one.  Sydney named hers Bella, and Zoe named hers Snow White (I think... it was so long ago :) They were so excited when Nick walked through the door...

I'm really glad I started this post back in January, because there is no way I would have remembered Sydney saying this...

Sydney:  Mom.  Bella doesn't know where we are.
Me: You should tell her where we are.
Sydney: Okay... Bella,  Daddy brought you home to us. (said in the most tender, caring way)

Sadly, a couple weeks later Snow White died on Zoe's birthday.  Zoe handled this very well, but what a bummer!  Bella was getting too big to try and fit another fish into our small tank.  So we decided to wait for Bella to get bigger, and then we would set her "free" in my parent's pond.  That day came on Memorial Day 2010.  Sydney was very excited to release Bella.

That night we picked up two more fish, so that Zoe had another chance of having one.  Again, their names were Bella and Snow White.  Well, few days later Zoe's fish died!  About a month later we finally got around to getting yet another fish for Zoe.  This one died the day after we bought it. Bad luck, I guess.  They both agreed to sharing Bella #2, because Mom is done buying fish.  Bella #2 is holding on strong, despite the few and far between feedings.
